How may masons does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

"I have an idea. Let's get a ladder, climb up to the light, and smash the light bulb with a hammer.

Okay, here’s a long joke on how many brick masons it takes to screw in a light bulb:

So, one day, a group of brick masons were working on a construction site, building a new house. It was a hot summer day and they had been working hard for hours, when suddenly, the light bulb in theirover overhead lighting went out.

One of the brick masons, named John, said “Hey guys, the light bulb is out. We need to replace it.”

Another mason, named Mike, said “No problem, I’ll go get a new light bulb from my truck.”

Mike went to his truck, but when he got there, he realized he had forgotten his keys inside the shed. So he went back to the shed and asked John for the keys.

John said “Sure, but why do you need the keys? Can’t you just unscrew the light bulb and bring it with you?”

Mike replied “Oh, I forgot to mention, I’m not very good with electrical stuff. I don’t know how to unscrew a light bulb.”

John was surprised and said “What? You’re a brick mason, you know how to build walls and lay bricks, but you don’t know how to unscrew a light bulb?”

Mike shrugged and said “Hey, we all have our areas of expertise.”

At this point, another mason named Dave chimed in and said “Well, I’m pretty good with electrical stuff. I can change the light bulb.”

So Dave went to the shed, but when he tried to unscrew the light bulb, he realized it was stuck.

He said “Guys, this light bulb is really stuck. I don’t think I can get it out.”

John said “Well, we can’t just leave the scaffold in the dark. We need to figure out a way to get that light bulb out.”

Suddenly, another mason named Tom spoke up and said “I have an idea. Let’s get a ladder, climb up to the light, and smash the light bulb with a hammer. Then we can just put in a new one.”

Everyone looked at Tom in disbelief. John said “Are you kidding me? That’s the worst idea I’ve ever heard. We can’t just smash the light bulb and risk breaking the entire fixture.”

Tom replied “Hey, I’m just trying to think outside the box here.”

At this point, the foreman of the construction site walked by and saw the commotion. He asked “What’s going on here? Why is the wall in the dark?”

John explained the situation and the foreman chuckled. He said “You guys are brick masons, not electricians. Let me call in an electrician to take care of the light bulb.”

And so, after all that, it took zero brick masons to screw in the light bulb. The moral of the story? Stick to what you know best and leave the electrical work to the professionals.
