AREAS COVERED: Our base of operations is Suwandd GA. All loadouts and maintenance are performed in Suwanee. Jobs range from Atlanta throughout the southeast. Daily travel to Suwanee when not on a jobsite will be necessary for equipment maintenance and job planning.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The E/D Supervisor is responsible for leading crews in the building and dismantling of all different forms of access solutions including scaffold and mast climbers. They must be able to complete paperwork in relation to multiple job sites and have a good working knowledge of scaffolding and OSHA regulations. They must also have competent person training to be in this role.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as the Competent Person under the immediate direction of E/D Construction Manager and above.
Manage a small crew without direct supervision from the E/D Construction ManagerRequired to work with appropriate toolsErect and dismantle mast climbing scaffoldsDesign and erect standard scaffoldsAct as a mentor and coach Scaffold E/D workers to help in their further development
Training Requirements are: Scaffold Safety Orientation
QUALIFICATIONS:
Served as a Scaffold Carpenter or 2+ years of approved equivalent experience
Use of scaffolding equipmentAbility to work comfortably and safely at considerable heightsAbility to regularly lift up to 40 lbsWell organizedSelf-motivatedSafety orientedBilingual a plusSome trade school preferred but not required
POSITION SUMMARY:
An employee should be able to transport, erect, disassemble, store and maintain scaffolding systems in accordance with industry standards.
TASKS:
Accurately interpret and apply information from work orders, job orders, specifications, blueprints, ISO’s or other drawings and recognize basic blueprint terms and symbols for job application.
Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job.
Recognize various materials used in scaffolding systems and demonstrate a working knowledge of appropriate material handling techniques.Select and safely use appropriate equipment which may include (but not limited to) manlifts, fork lifts, mast climbers and company trucks.Demonstrates knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices.Identify, explain and perform crane hand signals.
Demonstrate knowledge of requirements set forth in O.S.H.A. 1926.451 concerning the erection and disassembly of scaffolds.Inspect and select safe materials for use in building a scaffold.Identify and correctly use the parts designed for specific manufacturer scaffolding. (Example: Hydro Mobile, Safeway, Safety-Green, Betco, etc.)
Demonstrate skills in safe erection and disassembly of scaffolding.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
The math ability usually associated with this classification is the ability to calculate the amount on material needed to erect a specific scaffold from the instructions given. This will require the employee to be able to figure materials for several different designs of scaffolds. (Hydro Mobile, Safeway, etc.) The employee must also be able to read measuring tapes, and to understand the use of levels.
READING:
The employee must have the ability to read safety requirements, instructions in the correct use and maintenance of shop tools, be able to read and understand methods and procedures that are present on drawings, layout work, and just specifications.
WRITING:
Must have the ability to write simple reports with the correct format using spelling and grammar. (English)SPEAKING: Must have the ability to speak using correct English with a well modulated voice.
LANGUAGE:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.The employee must understand that the reporting system used for problems and information is as follows: 1) Crew leader, 2) Foreman, 3) General Foreman, and 4) Superintendent.Environmental ConditionsBeing in close proximity to moving mechanical equipment.Noise levels due to tools used in this craft.Fumes, dusts, and foreign material in the work area because of the nature of the work.Working in elevated or below grade work areas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions require working in: climbing, bending, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling.Good hand eye balance and the ability to distinguish colors are required in order to use the tools that are necessary to perform the required work.
Employees must have vision which has good depth perception in order to judge distance and space relationships.The employee must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.The ability to work in elevated positions is a must.The majority of the work in this classification will require the handling of scaffold planks. The normal weight of these planks with cleats is fifty (50) to sixty (60) pounds each. These planks are lifted by hand, pulled up by ropes, and handled in many various ways. Good physical conditioning is a requirement. It must be noted that if a scaffold plank is handled in an incorrect manner, injury can result. The other equipment associated with the scaffold are raised and lowered by hoists or forklifts. The towerss for certain designs of scaffolds weigh about two 200 pounds each.
